Temporary Foriegn Workers

The Temporary Foreign Worker Program is an employer driven process, wherein a Canadian employer must apply for an LMIA. Under this program, an employer must advertise the job position that they are planning to fill for at least 4 weeks before submitting the LMIA application. It must also be established that there are no qualified Canadians or permanent residents who are available to take the described job position. In case a positive LMIA is issued, a foreign worker can apply for the work permit. There are several work permit programs that one can apply for and they are as follows:
