The Temporary Foreign Worker Program is an employer driven process, wherein a Canadian employer must apply for an LMIA. Under this program, an employer must advertise the job position that they are planning to fill for at least 4 weeks before submitting the LMIA application. It must also be established that there are no qualified Canadians or permanent residents who are available to take the described job position.
